REVIEW Benton Deep Green Tea Lotion (ENGLISH)

by - May 18, 2021

The first time I knew this Korean brand is when they were famous for their Snail Bee Essence. I wanted to try it, but, at that time, I needed a moisturiser, not an essence. To satisfy my curiosity towards this brand and the line, I bought their moisturiser from the same Snail Bee line.

A few months ago, I needed to buy a moisturiser because I was about to run out of my previous one. I think I kind of miss that Snail Bee moisturiser from Benton, so I wanted to try more from them. I did a brief research on the moisturisers they have, and I decided to try the Deep Green Tea Lotion. I chose the moisturiser from this Deep Green Tea line because I feel like the main ingredient used in this line—green tea, which is good to soothe the skin—is the most suitable for my current skin condition.

So, yea, the only reason I bought this product is just because of the main ingredient. I didn’t read any review of this product before, so I didn’t know what to expect, haha. I hope it works well on my skin.

Packaging

The bottle is from thick and amber-coloured plastic. I like that it is slim, so it doesn’t take so much space, but I wish Benton put a pump or else on it. The part where the product comes out on this packaging is so troublesome. You have to shake the bottle hard to dispense the product in it, just like using a ketchup bottle.

Scent

It has a subtle green tea scent.

Texture & Finish

It has a light-gel cream texture. It is lightweight and watery; you can feel it once you spread it on your skin. It doesn’t feel occlusive, more like a humectant-emollient texture.

Kind of.

Yes.

Technically, yes.

Thoughts

I think it’s a good moisturiser for AM skincare routine only. I like to use it at the beginning of the day because it has a lightweight texture and doesn’t take much time to be absorbed into the skin. Even though so, I don’t think it’s rich enough for a PM skincare routine. This moisturiser gives a good hydrating effect. But, it lacks the moisturising feels. Such feeling is needed to be an assurance that it seals the previous skincare well. Therefore, I don’t use it at night.

If we judge it only based on the texture and the feel/effect it gives, I’d say this product is so good. You might not find it as good as I say because this depends on your preferences. Because of my combination (normal-oily) skin condition, the fact that it is lightweight and a bit watery matches my preference well. Another plus point for this product is most of their claims are proven right on me.

One thing that I hate about this product is the packaging. It doesn’t have a pump or any other form of applicators, which makes it hard to measure how much product dispensed from the bottle. If you’re annoyed with it, I suggest transferring the product into another bottle.

I don’t recommend this product if you need a heavy-duty one. But, if you’re looking for a lightweight and refreshing one, I think you should try this product. Despite the troublesome packaging, I still think it’s worth trying because of the texture and the feel it gives.

Suitable for

I think dry skin wouldn’t be fully satisfied by this product. People with oily skin would love it better because of its lightweight texture.

Pros

+ gives a refreshing effect
+ lightweight and fast-absorbing
+ the initial price is pretty high. But, I notice that it’s on sale quite frequently. The price after the discount becomes very affordable

Cons

- the bottle is not easy to use, hard to measure ho much product dispensed

Overall rating
4/5
