The Most Sophisticated HA Serum!—REVIEW L'Oreal Paris Revitalift 1.5% Hyaluronic Acid Serum

by - November 20, 2020

I always hoped that one day I could join Female Daily’s events. How could I not want it? Just by seeing it via Instagram stories seems like you could spend such a good time meeting with other beauty enthusiasts and gaining knowledge from the brands! I, someone who doesn’t live in Jakarta, can’t join those events because of the distance. Silver lining to this whole pandemic situation in 2020, all Female Daily’s events held online. Meanings distance doesn’t matter anymore! I’m so happy to be able to join one of their events. It is when they partnered with L’Oreal Paris to introduce their newest product in Indonesia, Revitalift 1.5% Hyaluronic Acid Serum.

Although the event held online, they could manage to make it as fun as if it is an offline event. I didn’t realise that I spent 2 hours streaming to that event :D Besides introducing the brand’s newest product, they also filled the event with a learning session about how hyaluronic acid works; we also did our skincare together virtually—along with teh Heny Harun, and a Q&A session. For the skincare sesh, Female Daily & L’Oreal Paris already sent the product to all participants a few days before the day of the event. We got not just the serum, but also a sheet mask and a jade face roller so that we can be more relaxed while using the sheet mask! The conclusion is, even though I can’t physically meet all those awesome people, I’m feeling so grateful for the experience!

Okay, before I start to ramble more, let’s jump into the review!

Price
IDR245,000 for 30ml.

Where to buy
Online:
Shopee**, Tokopedia**, Sociolla, Lazada**, Blibli.

Offline:
Drugstore, department store.

Packaging
A sturdy clear glass bottle. The pipette is a bit stiff when pinched, but I don’t find it affect product use.

Scent
None.

Texture & Finish
A liquidy gel texture—quite runny, but also has a bit of thickness. Absorbs quickly into the skin and leaves a slightly tacky feel afterwards. I don’t think it’s a disturbing kind of sticky feeling. It’s more like the tacky feel after applying a makeup primer. Also, the skin looks a bit more glowing after using this serum.

Claims
A facial serum with the highest concentration of Hyaluronic Acid (in Revitalift products) with 2 types of HA in one formula
+ 42% instantly bright skin • no. I found this claim on L’Oreal Paris Official Shopee page, but not presented at the event with Female Daily, nor I can find such affirmation in the product’s box.
Intensively moisturises the face for a smooth-feeling skin • yes
Supplying skin from within with the correct use of serum • yes! Though I don’t understand why they wrote down “with the correct use of serum” here
Provides anti-wrinkle properties on the face • not sure. Maybe you could see it more significantly if you have a more prominent wrinkle and make this product as your staple
Fast serum absorption and a non-greasy finish • yes
Intensively rehydrates and smoothes the surface of the skin • yes

Thoughts
Honestly, I love this product ever since the first time I tried it! I love it because it’s moisturising effect is fab, to the point that my skin feels much more supple and elastic the next day. After using it for a few weeks, I can tell just by looking and feeling that my skin is getting healthier! Well, I haven’t tried that many HA serum from other brands, so I can’t compare it to other similar competitors. The only HA sera that I’ve tried before this product is the one from a local brand Somethinc. Their HA serum is not bad either, but I have to be honest that the hydration supplied by this L’Oreal Paris HA serum is was better and more potent (in a good way), at least on my skin.

I have a combination normal to oily skin type, but one of my skin’s biggest concern is it is dehydrated-prone. Sometimes my skin goes through a mild dehydration phase without I even realise it until it heals. When I first tried this product, my skin is in that mildly dehydrated phase (which makes so much sense, as I was super lazy to do my night skincare routine those days, he he). I can say that I was in that phase because, after putting this product in the regime, my rough and textured skin feels much softer (with the help of a bit of exfoliating), more supple, and as if it is more “filled,” haha! I know the last statement doesn’t sound right, but that’s just how I feel! As if my skin is more filled and nourished.

Ah, as I mentioned before, this serum leaves a bit of tacky feeling on the skin. It is not a disturbing kind of stickiness, and I think it also depends on how you use it because sometimes this serum gets even quicker to absorb and leaves no feeling afterwards. I use this serum by rubbing it on both of my palms first, and then I tap it into the skin. I think this tacky feel can make a great makeup primer. If any of you want to do a night makeup, you might try skipping moisturiser & primer and use makeup straight after applying this serum. If you ever read the review of Somethinc’s vitamin C serum, or even tried it, I think they have the similar post-applying tacky feel.

Overall, I’m satisfied with the performance of this serum! You might think the result is just moisturising and makes the skin more supple. Well, it’s hyaluronic acid—but the performance is exceeding expectations. I recommend this serum very much! For you guys who have dry to very dry skin, I do think this product will work as good on you. But, you might want to read other reviews on this product from reviewers who share the same skin type with you.
