REVIEW Love, Beauty, and Planet • Clean Oceans Edition Marine Softness Body Wash
As someone who loooves well-scented products, I get excited whenever I find any body-care products that have various and compelling scents selection, just like when I discovered Love, Beauty and Planet. Besides their lovely & sustainable packagings, they also offer a variety of scents selection that is pretty much the ‘upgraded’ version than the ones we usually found in the drugstores market. When this brand entered Indonesia, I spontaneously bought their shampoos and conditioners. Those are the Coconut variant for me and the Lavender one for my partner. And just a few months ago they came out with a new variant/scent. It is the Clean Oceans Edition with Sea Salt and Bergamot scent! Doesn’t it sound appealing?! It does, especially for me—someone who adores beaches, oceans, and every smell that we can find there. There is no way I’m not trying anything from this variant! Since I still have many opened hair care products, I decided to go with the body wash for now.
Okay, enough with the rambles! Let’s move on to the review!
Price
IDR37,000 for 200ml. Also available in the bigger size (400ml).
Packaging
Since the first time they launch, Love, Beauty and Planet already spread the awareness with their environmental friendly campaign. They use recycle-able materials for their packagings as the way they apply to the campaign. For this variant, they are more specific by using plastic wastes that are stranded in the oceans. They process and make those wastes as the packagings’ material. The bottle feels sturdy with a disc-top cap to make it even more secure. The design, of course, is eye-catching, just like the previous variants.
Scent
I feel like the bergamot scent is more noticeable but pretty balanced with the sea salt scent. I. LOVE. IT!!! A fresh citrusy scent that is not over-done. Seriously, if I could, I’d ask Love, Beauty and Planet to make this scent as a perfume.
Texture & Finish
It has a thick gel consistency. Easy to spread, does not feel sticky, and easy to rinse as well. It doesn’t leave the skin dry nor slippery.
Ingredients
Water, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Sodium Methyl Lauryl Taurate, Glycerin, Sodium Chloride, Fragrance, Cocamide Mea, Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride, Lauric Acid, Sodium Methyltaurate, Sodium Benzoate, Stearic Acid, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Sea Salt, Sodium Hydroxide, Cetrimonium Chloride, Potassium Sorbate, Citric Acid
Thoughts
I admit that I bought this product merely because of the cute design and the scent, so I only expect highly on how the scent performs. I don’t need to pay attention to how the product works—as in how it moisturises and cleanses the skin because thank God, my body skin is not sensitive nor very berry dry. Another reason that I got attracted to this variant is their save the oceans campaign, which I appreciate as the ocean is my top nature destination.
Anyway, after I tried it, I don’t feel anything special on how it moisturises the skin. It’s okay. Though its moisturising performance is not the best, at least it doesn’t make the skin feel dry either. When I read one of its claims says it can exfoliate the skin, while in reality the texture is not gritty at all, I got quite surprised. I mean, isn’t it supposed to have that gritty texture from the salt? But where is it? Well, whatever. It’s not like I expect much from this product to exfoliate.
For the leading star--the scent--the result is satisfying. It is the scent that I really, really love! I feel like it elevates my mood and make my showering experience gets better! Unfortunately, though, the aroma doesn’t linger long on me. It’s gone just after I rinse it off. Since it doesn’t stay long on my skin, I’m planning on trying the body lotion, wishing that the scent would stick around longer. Overall, I still love and feel satisfied by using this product!
