REVIEW Implora Urban Lip Cream Matte • 02 Terra Cotta

by - May 09, 2020

If you already read my review on Maybelline Superstay Matte Ink, then you too already read on the intro that I bought those lip creams because my sister made me want to have it. This lip cream that I’m going to review today is also mine because of my sis. But, instead of making me want to buy want, she actually gave it to me for free. I already knew this Implora lip cream for a long time, but I never wanted to buy one even though the price is unbelievably cheap. It’s because I’m in the state where I don’t feel like I need to buy another lipstick since I still have many others that I haven’t emptied. Besides, I honestly kinda sceptical with the performance of this very cheap lipstick even though I read so many good reviews about it. Well, I ended up having one anyway. I’m curious how I’d think about it. Am I right, or am I wrong to be sceptical about it?

It uses the common lipstick tube with a doe-foot applicator. The design is just okay for me, nothing so special about it. For a 20K lipstick, I suppose a great design isn’t something we should expect, huh?

The scent is kinda sweet, reminds me of frosting.

It has medium coverage. It has good longevity, but, of course, it will be gone once you have a meal, especially a greasy one. Even though this shade name is Terra Cotta, I think the colour isn’t warm enough and the orange tone isn’t strong enough to be named Terra Cotta. I’d describe this colour as warm medium-deep pinkish brown.

The texture is liquidy and it has a matte finish. It dries pretty quickly, it is not sticky, and once it dries it becomes transfer-proof. It still transfers if you eat a greasy meal, though.

After trying out this lip cream, I regret that I was being sceptical about its performance. I should’ve trusted the many reviews that say this lipstick is actually good. It is a good product, indeed! The texture is liquidy, so it feels lightweight when applied and also when it dries. The colour looks like its hugging my lips, so it doesn’t look thick. The matte finish doesn’t make my lips feel dry, but it accentuates the lines on my lips a bit. As long as you apply this lip cream while your lips are well-moisturised, the lines on your lips won’t look that bad.

Besides the comfortable texture, the colour is also on point. It looks nice and complements my skin tone. The boldness of this colour is just right on me. It’s not dark enough to be scary-looking, but it is also not bright enough to look ghastly. I even can use this colour without any other makeup on. It looks lovely as the inner colour of an ombré lips, too. Moreover, the texture is easy to apply and blend, so it is a good choice to use to make an ombré lips. Now that I know I like this product, I kinda tempted to buy another shade, hehe. If I’m not mistaken, Implora just release new shades, right? Hmm, interesting ;p

I think this lip cream from Implora is more than good enough to be recommended to people who wants to buy a new lipstick. I mean, with a very low price, it has a very great result. So cool! Even though the packaging isn’t the cutest in the market, but what actually matters is the result, right?

I guess this colour would suit every skin tones, but maybe it’d look even bolder on brighter skin tones than mine.
