REVIEW Dear Me Beauty Perfect Matte Lip Coat • Dear Amanda & Dear Rachel

by - April 22, 2020

Finally, after wanting to buy Dear Me Beauty’s lip cream for a long time, I buy it! I always heard or read great reviews about their lip cream, but I hold myself to buy any because I still have tons of lipsticks to finish before I can buy a new one (it doesn’t work, I still ended up buying new lipsticks. I’m so done with myself). I decided to buy their Perfect Matte Lip Coat when I saw it on sale at Sociolla. It was hard to decide which shade to choose, but I ended up buying the shades that were always calling my name since the first time I saw them, they are Dear Rachel and Dear Amanda.

Honestly, I kinda regretted that I bought two shades at once. It happened for the same reason that I mentioned before, it’s because I still have tons of other lipsticks to finish. So I thought maybe I could keep just one shade that I prefer out of those two and sell the other one. But… what if I love both? I don’t think I can sell it :’) Especially if the formula is as good as other people say. If you want to know which shade I like more and if I agree to sell one of them, please keep on reading!

A nude coloured tube and the lower part of the tube is transparent so we can see the colour of the product. It uses a normal size doe foot applicator. I think the packaging is so cute! It’s minimalist, modern, and looks sweet.

It smells sweet like a cake, and it’s not strong enough to be considered disturbing.

It has a liquidy but a bit creamy texture and has a light matte finish. It doesn’t dry out the lips and doesn’t accentuate the lines on the lips. Once it dries, it becomes transfer-proof.

The pigmentation of this shade is great, the colour is very opaque even in one swipe. I’d describe the colour as warm medium pink. Since it’s a lightweight and non-drying type of a lip cream, of course, it fades after you have a meal. You don’t have to worry about its longevity though, because once it dries, it won’t transfer as long as you don’t have a meal or drink afterwards.

I finally try it on myself after wondering for a long time how this shade would look like on me since it looks so good on the official picture and swatch! I almost NOT picked this shade because I was kinda afraid it wouldn’t match my preference. I also read some reviews saying that this colour is too vibrant for them, which kinda turned me off a bit. It turned out I love this colour so much! I gotta be honest and say sometimes I feel this colour is a bit too bold for my daily makeup look, but still, I also can’t lie and have to admit that this colour looks so pretty once it applied.

Fortunately, this lip cream has a very easy to use texture so I can work it out. If I want to use it thinly, I just have to swipe it on my lips and then blend it using my finger and the result will still be great, seamless, and not patchy at all. I found that this is the perfect way to use this colour to match my preference even more. I said this colour is so good even when it applied full lips, this way makes it look perfect. It looks like as if my natural lips colour is this healthy red.

I’m so happy and I don’t regret this purchase at all. The texture and colour are perfect for me. The little details such as packaging, design, and scent are also perfect. It makes sense why people love this lip cream. With the numerous variants they have, all you have to think about before buying this lip cream is just to find your perfect colour.

I think this colour would suit every skin tone, but it might look even bolder on lighter skin tones.

The pigmentation of this shade is great, the colour is very opaque even in one swipe. The colour is a bit hard to describe, the closest description I can get is it is a medium pinky, brownish neutral nude colour. I think it’s hard to describe because even after describing it as I’ve mentioned, it still has a touch of peach colour in it and maybe a bit of warmth. Since it’s a lightweight and non-drying type of a lip cream, of course, it fades after you have a meal. You don’t have to worry about its longevity though, because once it dries, it won’t transfer as long as you don’t have a meal or drink afterwards.

When I was still picking the shades that I wanted to buy, I was already very sure to get a nude colour. But it got confusing because they have a lot of nude variations. Fortunately, the pictures provided by the brand are almost 100% accurate, so when I picked a colour based on their pictures it turned out to be as how I expected it to be. This shade is a real example. I was worried that the colour would be lighter than how I imagined it to be, but thank God it matches me perfectly :)

I think I just found my perfect nude shade! This nude matches my skin tone so well. It doesn’t make me look pale nor it appears too ‘colourful’ on me. As I said before, the colour is kinda hard to describe since it has a bit of pink, brown, even peach. If I was ‘forced’ to describe, I’d say it’s a pinkish-brown nude.

The texture of this shade and the Dear Rachel shade are not different. Both of them have a lightweight and comfortable texture. They’re also easy to apply and not sticky at all. After trying out two shades of Dear Me Beauty lip creams, I conclude that I absolutely recommend their lip cream. You just have to choose which shade to pick!

I think this colour would suit fair to medium skin tone. If your skin tone isn’t in the spectrum, it doesn’t merely mean this colour won’t suit you!

Wow, turned out these lip creams are awesome. Of course, I decided not to sell any of them! I love both and I can’t pick which one I’d prefer because their colours aren’t in the same category. I finally found another lip cream from a local brand that gets a perfect rating from me. I feel so left behind for trying out this lip cream just now. Is there anyone who’s reading this and never tried this lip cream before? Tell me, after reading this review, would you buy one now?
