REVIEW Rivera Cover It All Foundation - 05 Warm Beige
I first saw this foundation on one of Female Daily vid where kak Ochel and kak Imani reviewed it. Of course it made me want to have one! Turns out Female Daily also collaborated with Rivera Cosmetics to do a try & review event on this Cover It All Foundation product, and, of course, I joined. I’m one of the lucky members who was picked to participate in this event. Since I’ve watched the video, I already knew which shade I’d pick. I picked the same shade as kak Imani, 05 Warm Beige because I think our skin tones are pretty similar. Anyway, I heard that this foundation is very lightweight and won’t look cakey when layered multiple times. If you want to know if it’s true, please keep on reading!

I think the box design is cute, while the bottle itself has a minimalist design. It uses a lightweight glass bottle with a pump and comes with a cap.

The coverage of this foundation for me is sheer to high. For me, who have persistent hyperpigmentation, this foundation can’t “cover it all” even though I tried to build it up so many times. The traces are always still there. I even used like around 4 pumps just to focus on the area I want to cover. If I really want to use this foundation but still want to completely cover the imperfections, I use concealer below or above the foundation (I usually rely on my foundation only). The undertone is warm enough it doesn’t make my face look ashy. It matches my skin tone pretty well, maybe just a bit lighter but it doesn’t change the colour of my skin once blended. It makes sense because the coverage is pretty light.

The texture looks a bit thick when pumped, but feels liquidy once applied. The finish of this foundation on my skin is velvety matte (soft matte and doesn’t look dry).

Even though I have to apply multiple layers to reach high coverage out of this foundation, I don’t mind because it is very lightweight and doesn’t make me look makeup-y. To be honest though, if I want to make my makeup looks snatched and covered, I prefer to use another foundation instead of this one. I usually use this when I don’t need to do my makeup well-covered, such as for daily.
My tips for you who want to cover the persistent (im)perfections on your face using this foundation is don’t blend it for too long, especially if you’re using a beauty sponge. I suggest you blend it lightly until it looks like your skin, then stop! If you blend it for too long, you’ll just make the product absorbed more and more into the sponge, and the product on that’s already on your skin will move around and you’ll end up with light coverage. You might get to the high coverage easier if you use a brush, but I can’t say that since I haven’t tried it yet (still don’t have a great brush to blend my cream complexion prods).
I agree to most of their claims, except the longevity. It wears out on me after 6-8 hours. I also can’t say it has the greatest oil-control, but I agreed to that one because at least this foundation doesn’t make my face like a greasy pan. Related to those two claims, please note that I always set my foundation with powder since I have a combo normal-oily skin.
Overall, even though I ‘complained’ a lot about the coverage, it is a good product. I love that it’s lightweight and comfortable to use, and I love the skin-like finish, too.

This shade suits people with light-medium to medium skin tone. This product matches better for people with no hyperpigmentation problem unless you don’t care about perfectly covering the imperfections then go for it. I think all skin types can use this.
