REVIEW Some by Mi Yuja Niacin Blemish Care Serum
OMG, this is what we’ve been waiting for, my review on Some by Mi Yuja Niacin Blemish Care Serum! Before I start, I want to apologise for the delay, because I had some stuff to deal with in the past 1-2 weeks.
Anyway, I was thrilled when I saw Some by Mi released this product. I was already very interested in their Yuja Niacin Sleeping Mask, but, because I don’t really use a sleeping mask in my routine, I had to think billions of times to buy that one. Until they launched the serum version of their Yuja Niacin line, I bought it right away! So, before I start rambling more, let’s jump into the review!
Price
IDR250,000 for 50ml.
Packaging
A clear and lightweight plastic packaging that comes with a pump and a cap. I think it’s a brilliant idea to give a pump and a cap makes it easier to use and also travel-friendly. It has a yellow and white colour combination to represent the Yuja extract as its main ingredient.
Scent
A citrusy scent smells like lemons and the zest. The scent is subtle.
Texture
Runny gel texture, easy to absorb, I find it better applied on dry skin or when the previous skincare already absorbed perfectly to avoid the serum gets ‘bubbly.’
Ingredients
Citrus Junos Fruit Extract, Water, Butylene Glycol, Niacinamide, Glycerin, Panthenol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Thuja Orientalis Leaf Extract, Zanthoxylum Schinifolium Leaf Extract, Polygonum Cuspidatum Root Extract, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Leaf Extract, Mentha Aquatica Extract, Mentha Rotundifolia Leaf Extract, Nelumbo Nucifera Flower Wax, Coptis Japonica Extract, Hippophae Rhamnoides Fruit Extract, Arbutin, Glutathione, Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C), Ascorbyl Glucoside, Biotin, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Cyanocobalamin, Alpha-Bisabolol, Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate, Menadione, Arginine, Trehalose, Madecassoside, Adenosine, Diphenylsiloxy Phenyl Trimethicone, Caprylyl Methicone, Inulin Lauryl Carbamate, Behenyl Alcohol, Sorbitan Oleate, Sorbitan Isostearate, Caprylyl Glucoside, Polyisobutene, Xanthan Gum, Carbomer, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Sodium Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Dimethicone/Phenyl Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Benzyl Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Raspberry Ketone, Disodium EDTA, Citrus Junos Peel Oil

Result
After using this product for almost a month, I feel some differences. My skin looks glowing, healthier, and brighter. If you’ve ever tried Natural Pacific (or now Nacific) Fresh Herb serum, well, the result of this serum is similar to that one BUT without making your skin feels oily if you use it too much. For hyperpigmentation, yes I see some differences, but not that significant. I think Somethinc Niacinamide + Moisture Beet Serum gives a better result to deal with redness or PIE. While for PIH, I think the most significant result comes when I use multiple brightening skincare in my routine.
I think the ingredients are great! Yuja extract is a great ingredient as an antioxidant property and anti-ageing. It also has niacinamide, which is well known as a brightening ingredient, and it also makes your skin healthier. Not to mention vitamin C, arbutin, and other ingredients in it. Even though the ingredients are great, you still have to check out if there’s any irritating ingredient(s) for your skin to prevent breakout, even if the percentage is really small (it contains 82% of Yuja extract, so the ingredients that come after it must be in a smaller percentage).
But, does it mean this product isn’t that good? Well, because I didn’t expect much on this product (maybe because of Some by Mi’s ads are always ‘exaggerating’), so I honestly think this product gives a great result. I mean, the glow! Oh! Also, the practical packaging, and the very comfortable gel texture. So, it’s a yes from me! And please remember that if this product doesn’t work optimally on me to fade the PIH, doesn’t mean it will do the same on your skin, because every skin is different.
Pros
+ makes the skin look glowing, healthier, and brighter
+ very practical packaging
+ a fast-absorbing and non-sticky gel texture
+ great ingredients to give more antioxidant and anti-ageing properties to the skin,
Cons
- doesn’t work optimally on fading PIH on my skin
Overall rating
4.5/5
