REVIEW Lush Solid Perfume - Lush Lust

by - July 01, 2019

Hey guys, welcome back! I’ve talked about skin care and makeup here on my blog, and I’m going to talk about other beauty products, too. Today is the day that I post my first perfume article! As you can see in the title, I’m going to review a perfume from Lush, it is Lush Lust. This is my first perfume review not because it is my favourite perfume, but because it’s my newest one. I already planned on making a perfume stash article because I LOVE perfumes, it’s already in the making so please wait for it!

Lush is a British cosmetics company that sells skin, hair, and body care, cosmetics, and fragrances. I think this company is amazing. Their products’ names are catchy, their products are handmade and 100% vegetarian, and I think they don’t use chemical preservative because I’ve heard people say their masks don’t last long (correct me if I’m wrong). They also minimise plastic usage by selling some of their products naked (without packaging)!

I never thought of buying Lush’s product because they’re quite expensive and there’s no Lush store here so I have to blind-buy it online, which means I can’t see, touch, smell, and pick the products by myself. They used to have a store in Jakarta a long time ago. I wish they were still available here ;( One day, a friend of mine posted on her Instagram that she was in France and said we could buy stuff that isn’t available in Indonesia through her with a cost. I decided to try Lush’s solid perfume because I just wanted to try solid perfume, even though it means I can’t smell it first, haha.

Sillage & Longevity
Soft sillage
Weak to moderate longevity

Result
I can smell strong jasmine scent in this perfume, combined with rose, ylang-ylang, and subtle sandalwood scent. I can’t really smell the vanilla, but from the whole floral combination, I get a subtle sweet sense to it. A solid perfume like this is going to last f o r e v e r, LOL, especially since I use this perfume just as a touch-up perfume because of its soft sillage and weak to moderate longevity… wait, is it because I put too little of it? I can’t use it as my main or first perfume of the day because of the same reason. A solid, balm form usually gets dry after several uses because already exposed to air, but I haven’t seen any dryness on my perfume so far. I like the packaging is so small it’s easy to carry. It’s a shame that I have to go overseas to reach Lush’s store.

Pros:
+ it has a strong jasmine scent combined with rose, ylang-ylang, and subtle sandalwood with a hint of sweetness
+ compact size packaging, easy to carry
+ even though it’s a solid perfume but it doesn’t dry easily

Cons:
- soft sillage and weak to moderate longevity
- quite pricey for its sillage and longevity

Overall rating
3.5/5
